From the Traveling Summer Republic Team in Bremen,
The exhibition “Utopia” in Bremen is coming to an end. The exhibition can still be visited until July 4, afterwards all objects and stations will be stowed back in the container and be shipped abroad to its next station, the German-American Heritage Museum, Washington DC.
On Friday, 4 July 2014 at 6 pm, we warmly invite to one of the last events: “BBQ with Joan Koechig on Independence Day” and to the open air TV projection of the soccer match Germany vs. France. Food & drinks all inclusive: Euros 8.00
Special guest Joan Koechig, descendant of a family of the Giessen Emigration Society and Vice President of the St. Charles County Historical Society talks about her ancestors and life today in Missouri at a German-style (soccer!) All-American Barbeque.
To conclude the exhibition in Bremen, the group KULTURMASSNAHMEN invites to an audio performance of a special kind on July 10, 2014 at 8 pm. Six Bremen residents will contribute to a historic recording, talking about the topic “Come & Go”. Their words will be scratched in vinyl live on stage. Highlight: the recorded disc is stored without access for the next 180 years in the Bremen State Archives. More in the next newsletter!
Heartfelt greetings,
The Team of the Traveling Summer Republic
