Besides collecting historical documents that give us facts, they need to be addressed with an open mind. Keeping an open mind while we interpret those documents, may lead us to learn new perspectives.

Many of the Society members led influential lives, which played a part in the reason Missouri became one of those in America with a large population with German heritage.
Germans first began emigrating to Missouri in groups, and the Giessen Emigration Society was the largest such group ever organized in Germany to come here. Germans have played a huge role in St. Louis’ history, and will be featured in the STL250 event calendar.
