Wilkommen to the National Genealogical Society

Missouri Germans Consortium extends a warm Wilkommen to Saint Charles Missouri to all their friends in the National Genealogical Society coming for the NGS Family History Conference!

This week the National Genealogical Society opens its Family History Conference on Tuesday, May 12 at the beautiful St. Charles DorrisKeevenFrankeConvention Center. Missouri Germans would like to extend a warm Wilkommen to all the family historians joining us!  Please stop by and visit us on Tuesday while you register or attend the German Day at the Society Showcase!  During the conference our Director, Dorris Keeven-Franke will present Gottfried Duden on Wednesday at 11am [W123 Room 102]  and the Giessen Emigration Society at 4pm on Friday [F357 Room 101]. Follow our blog, receive our newsletter or subscribe to our annual e-journal Der Anzeiger which is filled with photos and stories of Missouri’s historic German past. Der Anzeiger also includes everything from German recipes, travel and tourism, to helpful information for those researching their ancestors and tracking them back to Germany. descendants of the Giessen Emigration Society which shares in an online digital research library. By locating descendants of the original 500+ members of the 1834 emigration society, we provided materials and partnership with the Traveling Summer Republic in Germany for their exhibition: Utopia – Revisiting a German State in America, from Giessen, Germany.
