Program on Utopia in St. Charles, Missouri

On Wednesday, April 2, 2014 the St. Charles German Heritage Club will hostDorris Keeven-Franke, left Peter Roloff_02.11.13_IMG_7514 Winkelmann Utopia, and the Giessen Emigration Society. Our speaker, Dorris Keeven-Franke will share the story of the largest organized German emigration society to ever come to Missouri, with its members primarily settling in St. Louis and St. Charles Counties. Many of the Society members led influential lives, which played a part in the reason Missouri became one of those in America with a large population with German heritage. Hear the story of nearly 500 German emigrants in search of American freedoms, and learn more about the upcoming exhibit coming to the Missouri History Museum this fall. We hope you will join us, the program is free and open to the public. It begins at 7:00 pm at the Stegton Regency Banquet Center at 1450 Wall St. (63303) in St. Charles. For more information please call 636-946-9828.
