Karneval has begun! The Fifth Season ends with the great Winter Ball on February 3rd.
In St. Louis the Karneval Season is in full swing with the upcoming St. Louis – Stuttgart Sister Cities 30th Annual Winter Ball. This organization is the oldest of St. Louis’ Sister wb30cover2-1Cities and has spent over 50 years promoting partnership between these cities.
In St. Louis this year, on November 11, 2016 the St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities Inc Elferrat will announce this season’s reigning Prinz and Prinzessin for Winter Ball 30!
There are different words in German for the Carnival or “Mardi Gras” Season: Karneval, Fasching and Fastnacht. Although all three refer to the same pre-Lenten holiday season, they each reflect the regional customs and traditions in Germany. Missouri Germans have immigrated from all over Germany for the past 175 years. The Fifth Season in St. Louis is most commonly referred to as Karneval and will begin on the 11th of November !
St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities (SLSSC) will celebrate their 56th Anniversary at the upcoming 29thAnnual Winterball Karneval, taking place on Saturday, January 30, 2016, at the Clayton Plaza Hotel in Clayton, Missouri.

St. Louis-Stuttgart Sister Cities “Roaring 20s Party” is the 29th Annual Winterball Karneval to be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at 6:00 PM at the Clayton Plaza Hotel, 7750 Carondelet Avenue, Dinner, Dancing, Entertainment, Auction, Raffle and lots of Surprises with Mistresses of Ceremonies Susanne Evens and Sherry Farmer.
